Parent Teacher Conference Information - Parents! Sign Up Today!

Dear Parent(s),

For the upcoming  conferences (Friday, March 31, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), Classroom502 will use a “Student-Led Conference” format. This format will  provide parents with an opportunity to either come into the school in person, or go online (Google Meet) and review the progress of his/her child.  This year, conferences will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Your child’s conferences are conducted and facilitated by your student and will last approximately 8-10 minutes in the online format. We welcome ALL parents to attend in person (walk-ins welcomed; 5034 Oliver Avenue North, Classroom 502).

Student conferences and conference materials (portfolios) will be organized in student classroom folders, notebooks, and journals.

The process for Student-Led Conferencing is one that encourages each student to:

1.    Take ownership of his/her school progress

2.    Critically reflect on his/her work

3.    Set goals and plan a course of action for further progress

Teachers will assist each student in organizing his/her work to promote real reflection and evaluation of work.

We ask that you help in making this event successful by:

Here you will find conference times organized by me and other teachers. Please register with me (Mr. Allen and Ms. Shelby).  An email confirmation will be emailed to you. Being encouraging and supportive of your child during the conference is key.

Student-Led Conferencing is a positive step in your child becoming a self-directed learner.  Parents are an important component in this process.  Thank you for your support of your child.

Sincerely,

Mr. Allen - English Language Arts/Communication
